Yonge Street, Avenue Road, Davisville and south of St. Clair has been always known for a very upscale housing neighbourbourhood in Toronto. Over the past 20 years we have seen the addition of many newer condos in this area. It has been well excepted in the condo market especially by the empty nestor's or downsizer's looking for larger units. The downtown does not offer the number of large units that this area offers. It is an area that lies between Yorkville and Yonge and Eglinton. Midtown offers many luxury condos while paying less than the Yorkville amount.
Midtown Toronto offers every amenity needed. Shopping and dining still offers your smaller ma and pa shop and restaurant. You can still wander down Yonge to your Favorite Butcher or Fruit and Vegetable Market. This is one of the few neighbourhoods that has relatively stuck to the small town shopping. There are big box stores or chains but they are scattered amongst small family business'. It's a vert refreshing area.
The neighbourhood tends to be populated with older families and empty nestor's. Average Income is much higher in this neighbourhood compared to most. Midtown encompasses smaller neighbourhoods such as Deer Park, Davsiville Village, Summerhill and the Republic of Rathnelly. All highly regarded neighbourhoods.
This is an area that is not over populated. Condos tend to be spread out throughout the community well. The most highly populated streets tend to be Avenue Road, Yonge Street and St. Clair with a few condo's on side street such as Scrivenor Square home of The Thornwoods.
Most condos in this area are younger than 20 years and the majority have been built in the past 10 years. There are a few condos in the pre-construction phase but they tend to be much less that the other areas of central Toronto.
